Mark Howdle is a Specialist in Periodontics, accredited by the General Dental Council. His practice is devoted to the treatment of gum problems, including dental implants and cosmetic dentistry, working in close harmony with general dentists and other specialists. He has over 15 years experience in all types of dental practice and teaching. He has published articles and papers in various dental journals and magazines and lectures throughout the UK, at Manchester University and is an Implant Mentor for the Association of Implantology (UK).
Mark Howdle qualified in 1989 at Birmingham University. After been principal of a successful mixed practice in Birmingham, he commenced advanced, restorative dental training in 1997 and obtained a Masters Degree with Distinction in Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry from the Leeds Dental Institute.
The breadth of Mark’s training enables him to complete complex reconstructive cases of dentate, implant and periodontally terminal dentitions using the latest aesthetic techniques.
Mark will be pleased to take referrals on all aspects of Periodontal, Implant and Restorative Dentistry.
Ailbhe is a Specialist Orthodontist and Consultant Orthodontist in the Cleft Unit of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Stepping Hill Hospital. She graduated with Honours from Trinity College Dublin Dental School in 2004. Following various posts in Dublin, Guys & Kings and Kent & Canterbury Hospitals and General Dental Practice, she undertook Orthodontic Specialist training in the Manchester region.
She was awarded a Masters in Science degree in Orthodontics with Distinction from the University of Manchester along with Membership in Orthdontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
She then completed Senior Registrar training and gained the Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2013.
In her spare time, Ailbhe regularly sculls with Trafford Rowing Club and enjoys baking
Charlotte graduated from Manchester University in 2002 and 2008 with a Masters in Chemistry and Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), respectively. Over the next 4 years she worked in secondary and tertiary (hospital) care settings concentrating on oral surgery and paediatric dentistry in preparation for her specialist training. During this time she also worked in general dental practice on a part-time basis.
In 2012 she started her Orthodontic speciality training at the University of Manchester, successfully gaining entry onto the specialist list in 2015 and gaining a distinction her Masters in Clinical Orthodontics.
Charlotte is currently working part-time at Crescent Dental Care as a specialist orthodontist and undergoing full-time consultant training at Manchester, Tameside and Royal Blackburn Hospitals in a Post-CCST role.
Sara Hosni qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Newcastle in 2009, and was awarded a merit in clinical dentistry. Sara was then awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2011.
Following a position as a House Officer at Newcastle Dental Hospital, doing a combination of Restorative dentistry, Oral Surgery and Paediatric Dentistry, Sara subsequently spent a year as a Senior House Officer doing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
In 2012, Sara undertook her specialist training in Orthodontics at the University of Liverpool. She completed the Membership in Orthodontics examination at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, qualifying as a specialist in Orthodontics. In 2015, Sara gained her Doctorate of Dental Sciences degree at Liverpool University supported by her thesis “Cervical Vertebral Maturation as a Valid Predictor of Growth”.
She presented her research at the International Orthodontic Congress and was awarded the first prize in the UTG Research Awards at the British Orthodontic Conference in 2015. The British Orthodontic society awarded Sara the prestigious Geoffrey Fletcher prize in 2016 for her research collaborations in the United States and Italy.
Sara is an examiner for the membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery exams at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Sara also examines on the Orthodontic Therapy Diploma exam, at the Royal College of Surgeons.
As well as working as an orthodontic specialist in practice, Sara also actively involved in teaching and training of post-graduate orthodontic specialist trainees and orthodontic therapists at Manchester Dental Hospital.
